Just got back from seeing “Plague Doctors Cure All – Be Healed Tour” at Newnham Club. Brilliant gig! Superb jazz-fusion, much funkier than I was expecting. Sort of like Gong with hints of Mahavishnu Orchestra, Stanley Clarke, very early Level 42 and even a slight pinch of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and yet somehow like none of the above! Stellar musicianship and stellar organising by Owen Adams and the rest of the Foist crew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The place was rammed too: proof that there’s a lots of people who want to hear original, experimental, non-mainstream bands as opposed to the usual cover\/tribute band fodder (…)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
